In her late thirties, Kelly was once again thrown in the trenches of baby muck when her third child was born. The need to get her hands out of dirty water led to the creation of Strucket, a profoundly simple yet brilliant combination of an interlocking strainer and bucket - a world-first - and a product that today is sold nationally and internationally.
With hundreds of thousands of Struckets already despatched and new products added to the catalogue, it would appear that all you need is a good idea and fame and fortune will be yours.
However, Strucket’s seemingly overnight success was based on three years of research, design, prototype, tooling, testing, grant applications, sourcing funding, sleepless nights.. and lots of white wine, to simply enter the market.
The countless awards Kelly has accumulated, and her current international standing are not only borne of the foundations Kelly laid, and her relentless commitment to both her product and her clients, they are testimony to her willingness to listen to others and, most importantly, listen to herself - and to trust her own voice and values.
